Similarly, 19 is a prime number. Because the factors of 19 are 1 and 19. That means, 19 have two factors. So, 19 is a prime number.

The definition of prime number can be stated in another way: A prime number is a whole number greater than 1 whose only factors are 1 and itself.

For example: 5 is a prime number. Because 5 is divisible only by 1 and 5.

Why 1 is not a prime number:

A prime number has only two factors. For example: 1 and 7 are factors of 7. So, 7 is a prime number. But, the factor of 1 is only 1 that is 1 has one factor. So, 1 is not a prime number.

Smallest Prime Number:

The smallest prime number is 2. Also, 2 is an even number. There are no other even prime numbers except 2.

Largest Prime Number:

The largest prime number cannot be determined, it is infinite.
